I have a cockapoo puppy. She’s almost 5 months. I got her as a gift for Valentines day. I’m still having a little trouble with the potty training. She was bred @ what you could call a puppy farm so crate training is a little difficult. She usually can make it 2 – 3 days without mistakes. She won’t go on the pads. Any suggestions?

I have a 4 month old beagle terrier mix that is still having trouble with potty training sometimes. My vet told me that they puppies need to eliminate half of what their age is in months. So your dog could probably go about 2.5 hours without having to go. If she doesn’t tell you when she needs to go…just keep constantly taking her outside (same spot), and praise her a whole bunch/give a treat whenever she makes a doo doo. If you have trouble with her peeing in the same spots IN the house, I bought this stuff called No-Go! at Petsmart/Petco that eliminates my dogs scent way better than any other pet safe carpet cleaner I have tried. Good luck!
As with any puppy, it takes time and patience. At intervals take the puppy outside and say go potty or pee pee, what ever you want to call it. Use the same word each time. She will eventually let you know. I have a cockapoo and a crocker spaniel.
poor puppy! thats the problem with purchasing them at a “puppy farm” (aka puppy mill)she will probably have that problem for a long time. dogs are naturally clean animals. they wont eliminate in thier sleeping area. but it sound like yours has been re-programed by tha “puppy farm”. you might need a profesional trainer.
maybe you should take her to a vet and ask them to show you how to train your puppy or maybe go ask one of your friends or family members with a dog to help you
