You can go to petsmart or any pet store and buy him doggie britches for male dog incontinence problems and that will solve his peeing problem for good. As for a petstain cleaner you can buy that any pet store such as petsmart.

If youre not that keen on the idea of crate training then I’d suggest taking puppy out every hour to go to the toilet, praising him when he does. And if you catch him peeing inside then tell him NO and take him outside, wait until he goes and then praise. But dont ever take the puppy back to the mess (if you dont catch them) because they cant associate the mess with the act and will just learn to hide their accidents.

have you brought him to the vet to see if he’s clear of UTIs or other causes? Also, if a spot already stinks like piss, it’s very likely your dog will repeatably pee on it..
make sure to catch your dog “in the act” within 5 seconds. although the dog might seem guilty, guilt is not a feeling dog’s know. instead they can sense your anger and remember the past when you got mad at them before. but if you don’t scold within 5 seconds of the behavior they will not associate the scolding with what they did wrong. not even sticking their face in it will help, if you don’t find it till after the fact.. dogs just don’t understand.
ADD: when you are not able to supervise your dog, and are going through the re-training phase.. use a crate while you are away.

you could clean the rug with vinegar and train him by taping his or her nose and saying no very loud and firmly

He’s marking his territory it sounds like.. If you catch him in the act, pick him up and tell him “No” with a firm voice and take him out right away.. Praise him if he goes outside.. There are a lot of carpet cleaners made for pet stains and odors that are sold at pet stores..

you can take rubbing alcohol and mix it with water and spray on the rugs. it will take out the smell. about him I would say just don’t leave him un attended watch him at all times if you can’t put him in his room or outside.

The best product that I have found is called Urine Eliminator by Rug Doctor. It is better than the ones that I got at the pet store.
