My 3yr. Old Cockapoo Has Consistently Ignored Her Potty Training Commands.?

For the past 3years her toilet training’s been consistent. Now she looks at you & ignores commands. What can I do?

When you see her start to make a mess in the house, immediately take her outside to the same spot every time. This will tell her to use this spot for using the bathroom. When she goes out there without being told, reward with a treat. Also, walk her every day.
I STRONGLY reccomend watching “Dog Whisperer” on National Geopgraphic Channel. This has really helped with our German Shep, especially when he was teething!!!!

Has something changed in your home or her environment (new pet, change of location, etc.)?
Praise for desired behavior is a highly effective training system. Use a consistent and small area for her relief and praise her during the act. When you think she has to “go”, take her to the area and wait patiently until something happens, then praise her. I am not sure that “commands” for potty training are a viable long-term way to make sure your dog understands what behavior is desired. She may be confused.
If you think her accidents may be health related, a trip to the vet might be in order.
Try hirering someone.
Usually mutts are easy to train. It shouldn’t take three years to train any dog. I would take her to a vet to see if there is a health problem. If she was trained and is now behaving differently that is a sign something could be wrong.
Try using treats as rewards.
I agree that a trip to the vet may be in order – a dog who’s been rewarded for making the right potty choices for so long would probably not want to regress like that. Best to crate her when you can’t pay attention to her – and reward her when she goes outside. Maybe the smell of her mistakes in the house could be cleaned with Nature’s Miracle or similar enzyme cleaner….
