I need to know where the best place to have the crate is. Should we have this in our bedroom? The kitchen? Any ideas??

I always kept my dog crated in the secluded laundry room hallway. Once he got used to the crate, his whining stopped.
If you put it in your bedroom, the dog may whine more (as mine did) because it knows you’re there and wants to get out to be with you. That’s why I would recommend that it isn’t in your room.
It is also helpful to drape a towel or dark blanket/sheet over the front of the crate at night. This helps them feel safer. My friends dog won’t be quiet unless you cover the crate with a towel.
That is my advice, Good Luck!
When hes still apup you should put the crate by your bed so he doesnt feel so alone. When he gets a bit older its best to have it in a seperate room or a secluded area so if they want a time out or you give him one, the dog wont be disturbed.
I’m not a pro, but….
We moved ours around alot…at night we put in in our room…if we were watching TV, we’d put it in there….I think being near us, helped her get aclimated to it…she never felt secluded.
Good Luck…Having a crate trained dog is Awesome!
Add: Hey “Thumbs Down Giver”…I said I’m not a pro…I simply stated what worked for me.
YAY CockaPOO!!!
PS – I kept my dog’s crate by my bed when crate training. Kept the whining to a minimum at night and she thinks of it as her home. Best of luck!
They cover it in the link below. Good luck!
