My Little Pup Is Afraid Of The Rain…?

I have a 14 week old cockapoo and he refuses to go out! We are still in the process of housebreaking him and this is totally throwing off our training! He will go on pee pad so I’m not worried about him making accidents but I want to be able to take him out. I tried treating him and introducing him to rain very slowly and he just won’t do it. I live in Chicago and if he is so scared of rain, I can’t even imagine how he’d react to snow!!! Help!

First, every time he goes outside, give hima few treats, and then in a few weeks, after he knows that drill, Give him more treats when it rains and he goes out. Then, in about one month, only gigve him treats in the rain, and soon the problem should stop!!
I think all dogs are scared of water in some sort of way, my chow chow is 2 now and still refuses to go near water, except when hes drinking. It probably takes sometime for your puppy to get used to the rain, or maybe its too cold for him (outside)? regardless its not a serious problem, im sure you will resolve it in no time
take your puppy to a tub, turn on the shower. it will realize that there is nothing to be afraid of because the shower will be like “rain” to your pup. if he is not scared of the shower, give him a treat then try to take him outside while it is raining.
or, on a cloudy day take your puppy outside before it starts raining. stay outside. when it starts raining pick him up and he will learn.
