We got one for my dog when he was almost a year and ever since he used it once he's never gone to the bathroom anywhere else in the house. We keep it in the laundry room and it doesn't smell because the pellets in the litter soaks up odor, just like kitty litter. You can buy them at PetCo and other pet stores.
