Tips For A Teen Getting A Dog?

My brothers wanted a dog, for, forever. Me, I could care less. My parents finally gave in and were getting it next week. It’s a cockapoo. He’s a puppy, 7 weeeks old.
Do you have any tips, for ME, not like training tips, but just reminders, like don’t leave stuff laying around, where it can reach, etc.

Getting A Cockapoo Puppy?

We are getting our first family pet, a cockapoo, she will come home in April when she is 8 weeks old. Some training books say that she will need to go out several times in the middle of the night, some say 2 times, some say none? We are crate training her and the training books say do not take her out if she is crying, but how will know if she has to go to the bathroom or just wants out, and what is a reasonable # of times to take a puppy outside in the middle of the night? Please help, this is our first pet!

It will be 8 weeks when I acquire it, how many weeks until I start to obedience and potty train it? how long should I take it out for a walk when it starts walking? if you have any other useful info, please let me know!
