Why Does Our Puppy Do This?

we have a 15 week of cockapoo who is nearly housebroken. He is completely fine sleeping alone at night (he sleeps downstairs) and he’s totally fine when we go to work in the morning. We have a dog walker that comes to let him out and walk him in the middle of the day. When we get home, we take the little guy out, we play with him (we don’t make a big deal out of our arrival). But if we go upstairs to change our clothes or go into the kitchen to grab a glass of water, whining starts as if somebody is trying to kill him!! It’s as if we are home, we can’t ever not be right next to him. We take him for a walk at night (at least 30 minutes), we play fetch, we give him affection, we train so I don’t think he is suffering from separation anxiety. When he’s left alone, he doesnt destory the house, he doesnt make accidents (if he has to go, he goes on the pee pad), i just don’t know why he whines so much when we are home with him but not in his sight. Help!

Is It Okay To Leave A Puppy Alone For 4 Hours A Day, 5 Days A Week?

I’m thinking about getting a Cockapoo and school has started up recently. I would leave for school at 7:15, and I’d get home at 2:10. My mom would be home until 10:00 though, so someone would be home until 10.
Would my puppy be ok?
Would I have to potty train it before I leave it alone?
I heard something about crates, can you explain?
Also, would it be better to wait until the summer, so I could spend a month or two caring for it non-stop, and then once school comes along, he’d be fine?
Please, any additional information would be very appreciated.
PS (to those of you who have Cockapoos) Are Cockapoos hyper?

Help! My Puppy Woke Up From A Nap And Was Very Aggressive And Afraid!?

I have a 13 week old cockapoo puppy who woke up from a nap late last night and totally panicked. I was standing about 6 feet away from him when he woke up with a start, and ran to the corner of our bedroom alternating between blood curtailing screams and growls directed at me. He also smeared a bit of poop over the pillows as he ran. It took him about 20 seconds to calm down, and then it was like a light went on in his head. He abruptly stopped screaming, and came running towards me shaking. He then hid under my legs for about 10 minutes. I tried to go to sleep about half an hour later, but he refused to lie down. It was as if he was on guard. We were up for at least 3 hours trying to get him to relax. Before last night we had never had a problem with him going to sleep.
He is the sweetest puppy normally, but last night I was truly afraid he was going to bite me. This happened once before, but to a much lesser extent. He woke up from a nap and screamed, but it only took a few seconds for him to calm down and come cuddle me. I don’t normally have a problem waking him up from naps. I call his name and he opens his eyes, tail wagging, and wants to snuggle. I have only used positive reinforcement to train him, and he is very cuddly with me normally, so I know he isn’t actually afraid of me. It seems like he forgets who I am…
Has anyone had any experience with this type of behaviour? Is it possible he is just having really bad dreams and he will grow out of it? I am at a total loss as to what my next step should be and could really use some advice!
Thanks so much, BP

Puppy Seems Aggressive.. Normal?

My 3 month old cockapoo has been biting a lot ( I know that is expected of pups of course) but he growls and bites pretty hard. What is some good ideas for training him not to bite and be more gentle? I know he must grow out of a bit of it but is there something I can do? Thank you!

Difficulty Housetraining New Puppy!?

I have a 10 week old cockapoo who is being very difficult to house train. I take him out after he eats and when he wakes up, and also every hour or so. I take him out for ten minutes and all he does is sit and eat grass and sticks. Then I take him inside and he has an accident within 10 minutes while I’m putting things away. Any tips?
Also, he keeps biting my little sister so hard he makes her cry. We pull him away and scold him and give him a toy but it isn’t helping. Any suggestions?

My Puppy Refuses To Poop On His Piddle Pad!?

Hi!
I have an 11 week old male cockapoo that we are piddle pad training. He got down the piddle part within just a few days and only piddles on the pad. He won’t poop on it though! We have him sectioned off in the kitchen and he tends to go behind his crate or in front of the door that leads to the garage. The 3 times he did poop on the pad I praised him and gave him treats then next time he would go it would be on the floor again! When he’s gone on the floor I have scolded him and even picked up the poop and put it on the piddle pad so he would have the scent. Nothing works please help with suggestions! I’ve googled this and can’t seem to come up with any answers, thanks!

My Puppy Keeps Screaming In His Crate….?

My puppy is about 9 weeks old and I’ve been crate training him and his is so smart! On the 2nd day he slept through the whole night and his has never had an accident in his crate. He sleeps in a seperate room next to my other dog and she is in her crate. Right before putting him inside I take him out to pee and put him inside with a tiny little treat. I have always done this with my other dog too. But today (its 4:44am right now….) he started barking really loud it really scared me so I took him out of his cage and took him out to pee and put him right back in. He has never ever screamed like that ever. This happened 3 more times, anyone know why he is acting like this? Its a boy Cockapoo, 9 weeks, just about perfectly house trained.

I Recently Got A Puppy Who Was Paper Trained; How Do I Now Housebreak Him?

We got a puppy on Sunday; he’s an adorable and playful 15 week old cockapoo.
He was paper trained while at the store (dont worry he came from a reputable breeder and not a puppy mill) because he didn’t have all his shots yet.
He just got his first distemper shot (which is more common in my area (Brooklyn) than most others), so our Vet said it’s ok for him to go out for a short period of time so long as he doesn’t interact with other dogs, and we have to be very careful watching him.
So we’ve been using newspaper and puppy pads for the past three days. However, we do want to start housebreaking him.
I’m reading a book that says once a puppy is paper trained, he can’t be switched. I’m confused.
Can someone who has made the switch from paper to housebreaking help me make sure my puppy gets on the right track?
