Puppy Training Biting And Peeing?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
I just got a 6 week and 3 day old cockapoo puppy (cocker spaniel and mini poodle)
She keeps biting my slippers and everything else she finds attractive to naw and bite on. How can I control her from biting? She also likes to bite my fingers so i say NO and walk away. Is that the right thing to do?
One more problem is that she pees everywhere she pleases. I would like to have her house broken but is it too early?
Also, how often should i feed her.
everytime i add new food to her bowl, she finishes it. I’ve fed her 3 times with in 4 hours. Is that normal?
Crate Training A Puppy That Cries And Doesn’t Freely Go Into His Crate?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
we have a 3.5 month old cockapoo which we got cratetrained from a breeder. however, when we put him in there in the daytime (and we go to work) he cries for about an hour (that we know of). we have a walker come in twice a day, but he really just gets so upset, that it’s upsetting to us. He doesn’t love treats, so it’s hard to lure him in there w/food, and he doesn’t freely go into his crate, so what should we do? I hate to think of him crying all the time when we’re not there.

We have a cockapoo that is 2mos. old this week. She almost always consistently pees outside, but we experience two problems with her:
1)She will not notify us by bark or whine or going to the door when she has to go out,we just take her out every hour.(OLD!)
2)She has only pooped outside once!
Any suggestions appreciated.
House Training Pup- Please Help?

I have a 2 1/2 month old cockapoo. I have had him for a week now. What is the best way to house train? At night, he sleeps in his cage. Surprisingly, he has NEVER went to the bathroom in his cage.
But throughout the day, he will go to the bathroom throughout my place. When it happens I generally say “no” firmly and then usually will take him out right away.
Is that the best way to go about it? Thanks.
Crate Training?

I have a 13 week old cockapoo and he HATES his crate and is hesitant to even go near it. Every time we put him in it he fights and whines when we leave. But when other people (other then me or my gf) put him in it he stays in it without a fight and never whines. How is the best way to get him used to it? How long does it usually take to train a puppy to learn his name, and basic commands?
Crate Training With A Blanket?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
I recently got a 10 week old Cockapoo and made the mistake of letting him sleep with me instead of in his crate. Well, I realized that when I’m staying with a friend for a week, he won’t be able to, so I decided to make him sleep in his crate. When I put him in his crate, he whines SO much. I know I’m supposed to just let him whine, but I can’t! So, I put a blanket over the crate and he hasn’t whined at all! Is there anything wrong with doing this? I know this is the stupidest question, but this is my first dog so I don’t know all of the tricks
Thanks a lot!
Need Serious Dog Training Help!?

I have a one-year-old female cockapoo who is spayed.
For a while, now she just simply won’t let my sister or I pick her up. Whenever Mandy (my cockapoo) even has the slightest feeling that my sister or I want to pick her up, she immediately growls. Then, if you try to physically move her, she’ll go crazy like an ill dog and sometimes even bite.
I’ve already tried picking her up and shouting, “no,” whenever she growls, but it didn’t work. I then tried to reward her with treats every time she didn’t growl/bite, but that didn’t work because – you guessed it – I can’t even pick her up. Ever.

Ok, well, I have an adorable little cockapoo…http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x225/…
He is cute, but he has a few problems. He’s a one year old and he is a very good jumper. He jumps up to our counter which is about three and a half feet off the ground and steals food, like he will grab it off. And he will grab shoes whenever somebody takes them off. He also runs out of the house a lot, and we STILL have to keep gates up to my dad’s office and to the stairs upstairs so he doesn’t escape up there! My friend’s dog learned not to go upstairs by the time she was one and I don’t know any dogs that steal shoes like Rocco (my puppy) and I know absolutely NO notorious jumpers!
So, my questions are…
How do I break him (train him) of jumping up to the table and the counters to grab food, how do I keep him from taking shoes, and how do I train him to stay away from upstairs so I don’t have to have a gate up all the time?
Please help!

Help With Dog Training?

I am taking care of a friends dog for a week. The dog (cockapoo) whines all the time, and pretty much does what she wants. The owners obviously, never trained her.She pulls at the leash when we walk.I give her boiled marrow bones to keep her occupied, but that only lasts an hour or so before she is back sitting at my feet and whining.I take her out every few hours,so her whining is not that she has to go.Help,it’s only the first day,and already she is driving me crazy.Any suggestions??
