nugget aka “nug the luv bug” is a chihuahua and is 1yr, 2m old and weighs only 3 pounds. he is the hard headedest dog there is that could be trained. i got him when he was 2-3 months old. he was pretty good about peeing on the puppy pad, but not pooping on the pad. he stays inside along with my 12 yr old cockapoo that is fully trained. it only took about 2 wks to train my cockapoo, but my chi that’s a different story and a year later, i am still spraying cleaner to clean up poop and pee. now my house is starting to smell. i have tried the crate training, but didn’t get any results, only had to clean that also. he goes out when my other pooch out as well as not with her. the little fart doesn’t even go off of my porch to do his biz. now that he’s older, he won’t use a pup pad, he will hike that lil leg instead. i am to the point of putting a bandade on his little dinger, lol.. but that won’t stop the pooping. there’s not a training shop anywhere near me, so what can i do???
plz help…

First and foremost, realize he’s a TINY dog – his bladder CANNOT hold it for long periods of time.
A Chihuahua needs to go out to potty frequently.
Try the crate training again, only FEED HIM in his crate.
Make sure the crate isn’t too BIG, needs to be big enough to stand up, and turn around, but not big enough for him to pee or poop in it.

you need to take a stand and show him who is the master and just rub his nose in it!!! do it consistently, every single time he did it bad. when he does his business in the right place, he’ll know cause he didn’t get in trouble. if you’re a little freaked out about rubbing his nose in it, then maybe a more indirect approach could be using that bitter apple spray or vinegar spray on his nose…. or swatting w/ a news paper maybe. yeah, up to you, lol. just don’t let your house go to ****! lol jk jk

Are you 100% sure there are no trainers around you? They have trainers at petco and petsmart. They’re pretty easy to find nowadays!
Also, ask your vet to make sure there isn’t anything wrong that could be causing the problem. If there’s nothing physically wrong, he needs to be trained in a consistent, positive manner.
Neutering also makes a big difference if he isn’t already. It also makes them live longer.
They do sell dog diapers if something is wrong with him.
If you really, really can’t get a trainer, you need to get a book. Training dogs with problems isn’t something that can be summed up in a single paragraph.
    Good luck!
